UCI Reports 1 Million Q-Factor w/ Mark Optics fused silica and glass substrates
D. Senkal, M.J. Ahamed, S. Askari, and A.M. Shkel from the MicroSystems Laboratory at the University of California Irvine recently demonstrated a one (1) million Q-factor on micro-glass blown fused silica wineglass resonators. Wineglass resonators are often used as gyroscopes in the space exploration and commercial aerospace industries. Mark Optics provided all the fused silica, borosilicate and low expansion glass substrates used in the glass blown wineglass resonators.
